HAITI
We want to draw your attention to an initiative coming from inside the demolition industry in order to help the victims of the Haiti tragedy.
As Martin Bjerregaard, from Golden Associates, explained at the EDA Conference in the last Demolition Summit in Amsterdam, he is committed in an NGO called Disaster Waste Recovery, whose aim is to help after such catastrophes.
Please, have a look at its webpage and decide if you wish to collaborate: www.disasterwaste.org
Please, read also this e-mail received from Martin at Port-au-Prince:

Dear Clotilde and Howard,
I would like to thank you both very much for the support you have proposed and we are very appreciative.
The situation here in Port-au-Prince is not so much regarding funding but more for demolition and debris skills, so if the message could include a request for any demolition engineers and debris specialists to be donated by their companies for, say, a 2 week period with flights paid for by the company, then that would be most beneficial. We are seriously lacking in demolition engineers who can be deployed and help with the demolition of unstable buildings and subsequent clean up works.
Thanks!
Martin
